Silly question

So, I was not that girl that grew up dreaming about her wedding.  In fact - I had always said I never wanted to get married.  That obviously changed the day I met my now fiance.  Since I never really though about a wedding, I have a few silly questions.

I am planning on sending out engagment announcements soon, and I know I need to set up a bridal and wedding registry very soon.  I am not really sure where I should registar.  We aren't going to need much house stuff.  Our families are going to help us out with that with their stuff they don't really need.  We don't really need pots and pans or kitchen stuff as I already have that.  I have thought about just doing a "honeymoon" registry where people just give us money towards our honeymoon, but I am not sure if I should or not.

Any input would be very appreciated!!!

Re: Silly question

  • Dont limit your thinking when it comes to the registry to just kitchen/bath stuff either. Do you and your FI live together? Do you have decor? what about curtains, rugs, picture frames, wall art, candles, bedspread, extra sheet (or just upgrade on sheets!!). Do you have a guest room where you will be living? What about extra towels/sheets/bedspread, etc for the guest room? You can register for fun stuff too. Are you guys camping/fishing/outdoorsy people? you could register at a place like REI.

*I recommend picking registries where the stores are located where a lot of your guests live (i.e. dont pick too local stores if most of your guests are states away and dont have them). Some common ones are Bed bath and beyond, target, macys, kohls

    * you may also want to check return policies-some stores only let you return for store credit, some will actually give you cash.
