Rehearsal Lunch - Private Charter or Clam Bake?

Hi Ladies!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

5 months *eek!* - SO excited!!

We've just started looking into some options for our Rehearsal lunch (we decided on a lunch as we've having some group activites for our guests later in the day) and I'm a little stuck re our options and what may be more enjoyable for our guest...

Option 1 - Private Charter with picnic lunch (approx 2 hours)
Option 2 - Clam bake with ocean views (approx 2 hours)

We have about 24 people all up and for people travellng from interstate or overseas we're trying to give them the most enjoyable experience possible while seeing as much of Newport as we can.

What are your thoughts girls? :)

Ooh, tough one. I think I'd go for the charter, though. Definitely a unique experience for your guests!

For either one, would you have a contingency for bad weather (of course, the weather will be perfect but, you know ... just in case Smile )? Wondering if there's, say, a tent at the clambake site that could still render it useful.

Clambake - that sounds great! THis is good for those how don't have their "sea legs" too.

I think the clambake is a great idea...I've been on a charter boat around Newport that served lunch...while we saw some nice scenery and went under the bridge, it was windy, the boat was rocking and the food wasn't that good. We used B&M clambakes at work for a summer luncheon and their food was great. (Not sure who you were going to use for the clambake, but I recommend them!). How about incorporating a trolley ride around Newport before or after the clambake?

    Thanks ladies!!

Your posts were so helpful, no final decision made on our part yet but we're leaning towards the clambake idea as we're worried about sea sickness and weather lol.  :)
