NWR: Freedom Ride

Hi ladies! I know most of you have heard of the situation with the city giving Freedom Ride the boot so that one day they can put in more ball fields. It's really sad! If you have a spare moment, please go sign this petition and help out an awesome local non-profit organization that helps mentally and physically handicapped children!

I did too and the FI will be too, he has a lot of students who go to Freedom Ride.

Its not like the city has money to build fields, its crazy!

i *think* tomorrow is the deadline for signing, fyi! i'd go look, but i'm busy writing a paper for school and don't feel like looking into it right now. lol.

that's my problem with it, too. it isn't like the city has immediate plans for the land. they have stated that it will be years before they have the money to build on it. there is no reason for them to just kick freedom ride off right now. it's such a cool place. i don't see how they will be able to afford to move. :(

they are having a derby day party to benefit freedom ride and i am considering going! it's $35 per ticket. they will be showing the derby live, serving snacks and mint juleps, and having a silent auction. if anyone else is interested, let me know! i just don't know if i want to go alone.

anyway, i got off topic...if you guys know anybody who might be willing to sign, please forward this petition on! thanks for your help! i don't work for them, but i am very sympathetic towards their situation. i researched it and see no reason why they (and the veterans) should be booted.
