Soo ... I know this isn't very typical on this board (since the groom's family should plan this). But it was left up to us.

Soo I need ideas of restaurants/caterers/anything! that would be less than $20 a person including service!

I'd go for a chain restaurant and keep it simple. Olive Garden was a former Knottie's choice and I know she was pleased with it!

How many people are you inviting? It might be easier to have it at a house or in your community's clubhouse. If not, I would look at smallish Italian restaurants, like a Dominics or Rotellis. I bet they would welcome the idea of a large group.

We are using a little restaurant in Lauderdale by the Sea called Fish Tales. I know this might not be your geographic area. However, in planning I Iearned 1. don't be afraid to ask for a lower (w/in reason) price, and 2. shop around. Also- planning an earlier dinner leaves more options. Our restaurant is also a bar and becomes busy around 7, so we are doing dinner 5:30-6:30. Also- we are offering 2 beverages/pp b/c they have happy hour BOGO, and are honoring these prices for our party... so we're giving little drink tickets

Have you tried John Martin's on Miracle Mile? They are very reasonable and have a private room upstairs. You can contact Martin Lynch (one of the owners)...he is super nice and tell him your budget and see if there is something he can do. HTH!

I'm planning on having every one come back to FI's place already squared away with FMIL & her friend will hopefully cater I anticipate about 25 -40 people just for rehearsal dinner.

where are you looking to have it ... broward ... dade palmbeach? ... i know of a few places ive been looking at by fort lauderdale beach ..

we went with smokey bones which was AMAMZING prices and the food is good

theres also a new restaurant called flip fliops right next to shooters

and then the Bahia Cabana which was ADORABLE but the smokey bones prices were a lot better

We are anticipating about 50 people for the rehearsal.

And our church is in downtown so we would like to keep it in Miami/South Miami/Kendall.

We are doing Carrabbas too! The Boca location is on a lake and we have all of our seating outside.
