I just wanted to "check on ya" and see what is going on and if you need help from us ladies finding a new venue let us know!

A girl that found me through my blog was having her RD there on Friday 5/27!
I feel TERRIBLE for anyone deadling with this

I'm trying to help her find another venue for it - roughly 150 ppl..so far I've suggested Kinney Bungalow, Botanical Gardens and Warwick CC. They want the space to themselves versus a restaurant...any other suggestions? Who knows if these suggestions are already booked for 5/27...

Isn't it so sad! I thought I might cry watching the video on ProJo. I never booked, but it was at the top of my reception venue list. My fiance wouldn't budge on wanting to find somewhere else, but after he stumbled all over himself trying to explain why to the wedding planner, I thought I might have finally won. Poor Edgewood Yacht Club! I mean, it survived all of the hurricanes that ruined other clubs, just to burn down in a snowstorm of all things.

I was so sad to see that, too. I considered it for a reception venue, but it wasn't going to work out logistically because there was no handicapped access. Still, it was a beautiful old building (and l love historic buildings) and the prices couldn't be beat. So very sad to see it go down in flames like that.

I just checked the website.. for sure the prices can't be beat.

I dont know how"fancy" she needs the place- but for a rehearsel dinner there is that Boat House in Warwick- -it is just an empty room that you can rent on the water. My friend had her husbands graduation party there when he got his Master's.

I am trying to think of other non-restaurant places.. whats the budget, do you know?

I think Kinney Bungalow is a good choice.
I wonder if area places will offer some kind of deals to people that were hosting events there... at least there is a little time until May- though thats probably no consolition to her.

Have her try Wannamoisett Country Club! They have fantastic prices! I'm not sure if they booked for that date though!
