Inviting President/Pope Celebs?

Has anyone done this if so do you send a normal invitation? I want to know how to go about inviting them I know they usually send a nice written letter of Congrats.

I never even heard of this until this board.  No offense, but I don't get the point.

This is kind of rude for no reason.

OP - Yes, you just send a normal invitation. You'll get a card back eventually (or a blessing from the pope). If you pay a fee, you get a much more ornate blessing back from the pope.

    Thanks for answering the question.

Yes with a response of huh it should be deleted if you can't answer the post.

I read about the idea from this board a while back which is why I asked and I think it would be a nice keepsake to have for years on end.

    Thanks again for the response.

I'm thinking I should stay out of this, but I can't... I imagine if someone says, "huh?" it's because they don't understand and are just looking for clarification.

    Shari,

I see what you're saying, but at the same time, it could have been better said like this:

Thats not anything I've ever heard of. What is the purpose of sending out invitations like that?

"Huh??" comes across as snotty, IMO.

Relax...regarding the post...huh? It was based on the fact that I didn't understand.. Not something to be over read nor to offend. Theres no need for the rudeness remarks since I didnt mean it in a rude way as it came off. Regarding the invitation thing, i went around the internet looking it up and apparently you do get a response back from the president. Which actually makes for a cool memory! If you do, I hope you get a response back and post a pic of it! It would be awesome to see! Good luck :D

    Send your wedding invitation to:
The Honorable Barack and Mrs. Obama
    The White House
    Greetings Office, Room 39
    1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
    Washington, D.C. 20500

We invited President and Mrs. Bush. They didn't make it to the wedding but the note of congratulations they sent is a great momento.

Good luck - I hope they make it!

I had never heard of doing this before but it's interesting. It would certainly be a cool keepsake to put in your album.
