XP Help Please!! Inexpensive save the date cards

Hi, does anyone know the least expensive way we can make our save the date cards?  Any ideas on a program to use so we can make the template for our card ourselves?  We are thinking after we make the template to go somewhere and have them printed out, any ideas on where?  Also if we do a postcard version, should we put it in an envelope so it doesn't get ruined or lost in the receiver’s pile of advertising mail?  Or is it okay to send it without an envelope?  Your help is very much needed and appreciated. Thanks!

  • snapfish has sales sometimes that gives you free stuff all the time. Also % discounts. IDK if you would like post cards. There are some Save the date Post cards.
    Davids Bridal also have discounts.
Wallmart sells blank ones that you can customize.
michaells has coupons in the mail every week for % discounts

I replied on the Budget Wedding board thread. Just FYI use XP in the title when you post the same thing on multiple boards so people don't answer you multiple times.

I used Photoshop to create them, then printed through Vistaprint.  I was very satisfied and ended up spending about $20 total (including shipping) for 250 cards.

PM me if you want some tips or a vistaprint coupon code.

ETA:  Also, we're using postcards, too, and we sent them out without envelopes.
  • The cheapest option is to make a free website and email a link to everyone.

Outside of that, vistaprint is the cheapest I've seen.  I would do postcards without the envelope.

I will definitely PM you.  Thank you very much!
  • I scored 100 free postcards on Vistaprint. All I had to pay was shipping/handling which was less than $7.  Sometimes Vistaprint has cool deals like that, but you have to catch them quickly.  Now I'm in the process of mailing them.  I think postage for a postcard (normal size, not large) is 29cents each.

  • I used vistaprint and made magnets! They weren't from the wedding specific section but still totally awesome and less than 40 dollars!
  • Keep an eye on Groupon and Living Social! I got a Groupon for Mixbook and ended up paying $5 for the Groupon, and then just for shipping on the actual cards!
