Pre-style appointment

Who all goes to the hairdresser to do the pre-style? I thought it was just the bride to make sure she likes the style and that it fits her style. My one bridesmaid keeps asking me when the appointment is for her to do a pre-style.
One another note, I did ask the salon where we are going the question and they told me they just need to bring in a picture of what they like and they will do it that day. I'm just confused and I know it will cost about the same either way to get the styless done and I know my bridesmaid doesn't have a lot of extra cash, so I didn't want her to have to spend that extra money if she didn't have too.

Re: Pre-style appointment

  • I don't think it's very common for a bridesmaid to do a trial run. None of mine are.
  • None of mine are either - they chose the style, the stylist confirmed that she could make it happen and that was it.

FWIW, they're not getting a pre-makeup trial either

  • I've actually never heard of a BM having a hair (or makeup) trial.  I'm not requiring my BM to get their hair professionally done, and none of them are so I've never even pondered this.

  • Thank you for your responses. I didn't think it was common for bridesmaids to do a trial run either. In weddings I have been in, I never had before either. I was just wondering why my BM was making a big deal about it. Thanks!
  • My sister/MOH wanted a trial first.   She is very picky about her makeup so she was willing to pay for a trial beforehand (my MUA had never heard of it either).  I thought she looked great but she decided to do her makeup herself on the wedding day and just had her hair done.
