ohsnap. a tasting.

We have one of our final tastings today! We are meeting with our coordinator at 11:30 at our Venue (Pinnacle) to go over details and all that good crap! Im so effing excited to eat  a great lunch and figure out what we are getting. I think we might also be going over the more detailed details like cocktail hour (specialty cocktails?), kegs versus bottles, salad options, vendor times, etc etc.

Wish us luck! <3

Good Luck! So do you do multiple tastings at your venue? Thats pretty cool. I was wondering because if you book a year in advance will you remember how everything tasted and what if they make changes to the menu?

I was a total divaturd and changed one of their entrees around big time. I was in love with the idea of doing a chicken and a fish plate because of summer time, I didn't want anything really heavy.

The first dish was Chicken Romano (SO GOOD!) with a green bean almondine and garlic and herb mashed potatoes. Didn't want to change anything on it.

The second dish was originally supposed to be a ginger crusted salmon with a sweet thai chili sauce, saffron bismati rice and green bean almondine. Well, I'm not the biggest fan of cooked salmon, so I asked if we could do a white fish (like halibut) and they said yes! So we tasted it with the halibut, but the thai chili sauce was a little over powering with the fish and all you could taste was sauce. So my coordinator suggested this savory plum marmalade sauce that they have for some of their dishes. OMG it was effing perfect. But then the rice didn't go so well, so we were able to change that to a Jasmine bismati rice still with the green beans.

    Cliffnotes:
Dish 1- Chicken Romano (sundried tomato, spinach and romano cheese stuffed chicken breast) with green bean almondine and garlic and herb mashed potatoes.
Dish 2- Ginger Crusted Halibut with a savory plum sauce with jasmine bismati rice and a green bean almondine.

The chef even came out and talked to us and explained things and talked to us about the fish etc etc. It was a great tasting (2 hours!) and I can't wait to eat my fish lol

Our wedding is on June 24th,2011 (a friday). less than 3 months! AH!!

That sounds amazing! Ours is on a Friday too because by the time I booked (1 1/2 years ahead of the wedding) EVERY Saturday was taken. Oh well! We are doing prime rib and chicken marsala, but we are doing our rehearsal dinner there too, and for that I think we are doing filet and chicken romano. Cant wait!
