Gah.  When chicken breast is on sale for $0.99/lb, I grab 2-3 4lb packages.  Lately, it's been on sale A LOT.  And on Sunday, it was $0.79/lb (there was a limit of 2, though).

I've been intentionally stocking up for grilling out this summer, and we've also been eating chicken every week.  I mean, there's a frillion things you can do with chicken.  But I had no idea that I had 30 freaking lbs in the freezer until I counted yesterday.

I'm a chicken hoarder.

    I do the same thing. I had to call best buy one day and buy an upright freezer over the phone (to be picked up by my FI that day) because I accidently went overboard buying meat. (there were some really good sales). When I got my groceries home I realized I did not have nearly enough room in my freezer.

    well hey if it doesn't get puffy you can save that chicken forever!

    forreals, though, that's a great price. I'd stock up too.

    we hoard meat too. i have 2 giant turkeys in my chest freezer ( 30+lbs total), 2 huge racks of ribs, a couple of 4lb briskets, a bunch of boneless/skinless chicken breasts, some pork chops, a bunch of pre-cooked meals ( dinners made by us or lean cuisine/smart ones for lunches) - and the rest is filled with milk.

    DK says no more shopping for a while, the chest freezer is full.
