Threading eyebrows

I have gotten my eyebrows waxed but i always break out around the areas they wax for about a week. I was thinking about threading instead but have never done it before. has anyone done threading? what do you recommend? i just don't want to do it and then they mess up my eyebrows and i don't have alot of time before the wedding to grow back eyebrows. if i do just do the waxing i'll just do it early just so the break outs can disappear (hopefully) before the wedding.

Re: Threading eyebrows

  • i get my threaded along with my upper lip and i don't break out on my eyebrows so much but my lip yes. i might get one or two little marks around the eyebrow but not a whole lot. i know you said you don't have allot of time but maybe you can get the threading done now and see how it looks and how you react, if you like it they can always "touch it up" right before the wedding to grab any strays that grow in faster. if you don't have allot of time though you might want to stick with what you know. hope that helps!
  • I got mine done a few weeks ago. They did a good job and I haven't had that much grow back. I have pretty sensitive skin and when I would wax it would be lobster red for the rest of the day but threading made it only a little red for a few hours! I'd say go for it!

My friend actually just recommended threading this weekend. I'm gonna try it.
  • I have done both.  I really like the threading.  They did a very good job with shaping my eyebrows and I had no redness after.

  • I love threading and highly recommend it more than waxing!  For me it definitely hurts less and I am occassionally pink afterwards but that never really lasts for long.  I usually get it done about every two weeks but others last longer.

Oh, and since you live in Houston try a place called Aisha's in Pearland!

  • I have to speak out against threading!  I HATE it.  I much prefer the quick and easy of the waxing.  When I got threaded, they botched it really badly and I was soooo upset.  They took a layer of skin off in one place and my eyebrows never grew in the same way again and still come in with a totally different shape than they used to.  I will never get it done again. HATE!
  • I tried it a few weeks ago.  I didn't think it was that bad but the lady messed up my one eyebrow and now it looks funky.  If I don't use a pencil it seriously looks like I'm missing part of my eyebrow.  If I go again I'll go somewhere else.
