Indoor picture locations downtown

I'm trying not to worry about weather, since it can change dramatically in the next 8 days. But as it looks right now, there is a 60% chance of rain next Saturday.

Thankfully the ceremony and reception are both inside, but we had hoped to get pictures downtown between the two at comerica park and the riverwalk and whatnot. Of course, we've already rented a party bus to take us down there, so now I need ideas of where to go in case it rains so we don't waste our money on the party bus.

  • The Guardian building is super cool for pictures, it's got great unique architecture. The interior of hotels downtown could be really neat too. You might be able to get pictures at one of the casinos....just make sure you call around to the places you're interested in and make sure they're okay with photos being taken on the premises.

I would suggest the DIA because it's got absolutely gorgeous interiors, but I know there's a fee for shooting in there, not to mention I'm pretty sure you'd have to pay admission for each person that went in.

  • I agree with the PP. There are tons of great indoor venues, or you could get lots of inexpensive umbrellas in your wedding colors and still do your pics outside! Even if it does rain! You could always get pics in your favorite restaurant, where you met, there are lots of places! Call the henry ford and see if they allow pictures in the lobby or the dearborn in lobby would be beautiful as well! Good luck!
