8 month mark - where are you at?

So today is the 8 month mark for me and ladies, the next few are going to fly with fall, the holidays and then I am planning two baby showers, expecting a neice and nephew, gradutating with a second masters and applying for a doctorate program and then my own shower and WEDDING! It's going to go by quick and I'm not to bad with what needs done

All I have left is some DIY and deciding on a cake place. I'm feeling like way ahead of the curve here although stressed because now, we have big amounts of money due for our almost there payment. We also decided to not put one dime on a credit card for anything we purchased for the wedding. We have a bank account with our budget amount in it so we don't go overboard. Vistaprint has been a godsend so if anyone gets another killer "free" email send it over. I seem to get better deals with that then the groupons I still have sitting around. 

I know most of you are coming up on the big 8 month mark - anything major going on or planned?

    We are going to pay off the ceremony/reception site in about 2 weeks as well as the DJ. And we are going to meet with our caterer (who gave us a free wedding cake) and go over what flavor cake we'd like and what we want it to look like. I also need to get on deciding my flowers I am having such a hard time doing that ( I am DIYing my centerpieces and boquets). I also need to get candles and votives so a lot still but it's coming along

    FI's uncle owns a printing company, so within the next couple of weeks we should get our STD's printed out, then start thinking about invitations. A friend is making our cake, so we probably won't meet her her to discuss that until after the holidays. 
    I'm right there with you on having to pay everything everything off still (ceremony, reception, and photographer, really). Thankfully, FMIL is paying for the reception while FI and I (with a little help from my parents who can't contribute as much as they'd like) will pay off the photographer, videographer, and ceremony. I prefer to just save all that money and pay them off when the time gets closer though.
    I can't believe how fast time is going, and I'm welcoming the winter this year (I usually don't like the cold!) cause it means we're that much closer to our big day!

    We just need to officially book the caterer and beverage provider then all our vendors will be booked :-)

    For now I'm just completing DIY projects.

    Got our save the date hoping to have them mailed by this weekend. Planned a date for next month to go pick out bridesmaid dresses and still need to pay the djs deposit, he said its not due until November but I'd like to get it done sooner!

    Well, though I have most of my vendors selected, I have yet to give out any deposits, which I have to do this month. Its tight because Im trying to put them on a credit card to then pay off (for frequent flyer points). So Im having to do one at a time and its holding me up big time. (But with double points, its worth the effort!)

    Most of my small details have been decided on, even if I cant execute them until the budget allows me to (closer to the holidays).

    Well, let's see...

    As of this week, when I should receive the STDs, with the exception of 7 straggler addresses (on FI's side of course), we'll have all the major items either scheduled or completed. Our e-pics are 10/6, our honeymoon deposit will be sent this Friday, bridesmaids' dresses are almost finalized, so we're really just going to start heading into the details.

    great job! I left out the honeymoon - I always foget about that since my man doesn't travel by air, boat or train -  just car. He's a PIA about traveling so we'll just wing that later down the road haha. Look at us ladies, getting it done!

    Today's 8 months for me too.! We have all of the big vendor checks done. Next up is taking Epics and and purchasing STDs. We plan on sending them out on November 10. Our 6month mark. Also bridesmaids dresses and tuxes for the guys are next. Almost time to make more payments and do a mock up centerpiece.

    I mailed in my officiant papers today. I didn't know that they needed those and would have to meet with the church people in order to officially guarantee the date. The meeting is next week I think so hopefully all goes well. I need to send deposits to the florist and centerpiece rental this week also. Hopefully we can decide on a honeymoon this month. FI wants a cruise and I can't decide where to cruise to or talk him into an AI resort.

    Well, considering we just got engaged a week and a half ago....we have the venue and date set, which is huge! Tons to do still but we have good leads on caterer, bar provider, save the dates/invites and photographer. No wedding party/attendants; we are keeping it pretty simple so once we have the big stuff booked, we will really just have some DIY decor items to work on. A little stressed seeing how far along you all are! But that's what I get for a quick engagement, I guess!
