Update: Ceremony Music (**hbstone**)

I met with the quartet director on Friday. Ceremony music is finalized, yippee! We had a wonderful discussion (I've known her for 6 years) about the wedding, the importance of music in our lives and the fun we'll have that day.

Here goes (sorry Donna, no links, please forgive me):

Prelude
Purple Haze – Hendrix
“Spring” from The Four Seasons - Vivaldi
Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F, 3rd Movement – Bach
Hornpipe from the Water Music Suite – Handel
Additional selections, if needed
Entrance of the Queen of Sheba – Handel

Couple’s Entrance
La Rejouissance from the Music for the Royal Fireworks - Handel

Couple’s Guest Greetings
Ashokan Farewell from the Civil War – Ungar
Additional selections, if needed
Canon – Pachelbel

Processional
Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F, 1st Movement – Bach

Interlude
Double Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, 1st Movement – Bach

Recessional
Wedding March from A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Mendelssohn

Great selection Lisa. I love classic music and aside two music (Hendrix and Ungar) that I am not familiar with, I simply adore the other ones specially Vivaldi's "allegro" Spring, that probably is the movement that will be playing at your wedding. I am sure it will be a wonderful ceremony!

Lisa, doesn't it feel good to have one more thing decided? I'm so happy for you that you were able to get this settled. The music selections sound wonderful!!

Ok, so, woman with undergrad degree in music chiming in here. :-)

I'm not crazy about Hendrix, but it will be fun to be played in a different arrangement. And the other "classical" pieces are well known enough that even though people may not be able to say that it's Handel's Water Music, they will have heard it before, which makes most people more comfortable.

    Good choices!

I couldn't help it (Hendrix)!! Their arrangement sounds SO good ... and a fun way to kick it all off. Hee hee!

I'm glad you like the choices ... it took us months to make progress. FI is not a big fan of classical music, but he knows how important it is to me. Reason #568 I love that man!! Oh yeah!
