Pop of color for B & W invitations

Our invitations will be black letterpress on ivory cards.  There will be just the outside envelope + invitation and reply card + reply envelope.  No other inserts.

How can I introduce a pop of color to this set so it looks a little less plain, and not spend too much money in the process?  I know about belly bands, but I'm not sure I like those.  What else could I do?

My first thought was to make envelope liners, and while this doesn't carry over to the invitation itself, it would still add color to the package.  A wide belly band could work, or you could add an embellishment - a charm, jewel or flower - to the card itself.
  • For letterpress invitations, I wouldn't want to add anything that would detract from their elegance.
  • I would add envelope liners. They make such a statement and won't detract from your invites.
