Okay here's the brief backstory (I have posted about this issue a few weeks ago, so if it sounds familiar that's why):
I found a couple who plays violin/viola locally, heard about them on the local board and although didn't find a TON about them they sounded great, website shows alot of reviews, and the recommendation I got was they were amazing, and definitely in my price range (which I will admit wasn't too much). So I got a contract with them and signed it via the internet, paid a deposit last Summer/Fall. We never met in person, which was fine by me -- just sent emails and paid via paypal. So I said I'd be in touch, they sent me a list of their library they play from (they will learn any song for an additional charge but have a good library so I planned to pick from there). Back in Novemberish I had a groupon to vistaprint and wanted to do programs, so emailed them asking for digital samples of songs (they had previously said no problem.) well after 5 emails never got a response, so I posted on my local board about them asking if anyone had experience with them, within 24 hours of hte post I got an email from the group saying that they saw what they assumed was my post on the knot, and they've been busy, and the knot is where they get referralls from and basically semi-aggreesive about my post on the knot vs. dealing with them directly (although I tried..) and in my post i had mentioned possibly finding a new group due to being frustrated and they harped on that pretty good in the email. This REALLY ticked me off because they can troll the boards and attack me for posting, but can't address my individual email?? I digress.
So they said, we're recording a huge list of songs because we have alot of requests to hear more so we'll get it to you around the 1st of the year.
January 20thish I got an email saying "it was taking longer than expected, the producer or whoever had some delays, it would be in digital format and emailed to me soon" I also noticed a second bride was cc'd so I assume someone else has been complaining. I replied thanking for the update, and hoping for future updates so I can make my damn programs!
Okay so it's March 2.. I have not received any emails from them about where the samples/files are, they haven't sent me any samples, and I am REALLY pissed.
At this point, should I send them an email AGAIN asking wtf is up, or just cancel and try to find someone else?
Music is a HUGE HUGE deal to me, and I really want to make sure that I like what is played as it is the entire ceremony (we're not having any other music except these two), and I'm thinking if I cancel and move on now I may be able to find someone who has time to prepare..
Sorry for the length, thanks in advance for your advice.. I'm feeling my first wedding blow-up on a vendor coming on!
