Hello!
I need input on a place to take my engagement photos! I live in Tinley Park, IL (south suburb of Chicago) and am looking for somewhere reasonably close that is beautiful this time of year for engagement photos (hopefully within a 45 minute drive, but I'm open to anything you have)!
This is kind of last minute, so I would appreciate all ideas! I was looking at the Morton Arboretum, but it turns out it is closed!
Thanks for all of your help and I appreciate the help!
Re: Engagement Photo Locations in the Chicago Area and Suburbs...
Centennial Park in Orland Park
Pilcher Park Nature Center in Joliet
the area around the Oak Park Ave. Metra Station is cute too
aimers1525-you are correct. There is a fee to take pictures at Lake Katherine. I'm not sure what it is but it's a pretty place if you are willing to pay.
I'm not far from you...I live in Midlothian so keep in touch if you find any great places and I'll do the same!
Yes I do have a photographer, and the issue I am having is that I would like to take pictures later in the evening when most nature parks are closed
Talk to you later!
happy planning!
Bird Haven Green House
225 Gougar Road
Joliet, IL 60432-9671

It is actually on the New Lenox Joliet border.
There is a very pretty outside area, tons of flowers, and inside there's a bridge, a waterfall, etc. Open to the public during their open hours, and no fees for taking pictures.
I just callled ahead of time to make sure there wasn't a wedding when we'd be there for our engagement shoot. A bride and groom and party was just leaving as we got there, so it's definately a hot spot.
Check it out!
[QUOTE]Okay, so I am not revealing my theme to any family member only me and my fiance know what it is going to be. That being said its Aladdin! It is my favorite movie now and when i was a kid, plus i like to think i am princess jasmine...lol But i need help i want my wedding to be that not Arabian nights. So I know there are a million colors to choose from but what i was planning on doing is designating different colors to the bridesmaid dresses such as fushia, emerald, turquoise, etc. So, now my question is what do i do about the bouquet?

There are so many great jewel tone colored flowers. You could also incorporate peacock feathers?
[QUOTE]Omg i never though of peacock feathers love that, the only issue with using those colors for the bouquets for the girls is that they will be wearing those colors you dont think it will clash? like each girl will be wearing different colors.

If you get bouquets with a mix of colors I think it would look great. You could also do all white/ivory? Or lately there is a trend of girls just holding a couple stems of one single flower--like callas.
