Getting in Shape

Small Victories

So last night, i forgot to eat dinner, and at about 9:30 i was STARVING, but i didn't want to eat anything big right before bed, so i had a 100 calorie pack and was satisfied.  This morning, my parents surprised me by taking me out for breakfast (right after i had written my accountability today).  we walked to Ruby's and i'll admit...i didn't chose the best thing on the menu, BUT i was proud that i couldn't finish half of it!

So, my small victory for the week is smaller portions (finally!) that my stomach is finally shrinking and feeling fuller with less food.

i know skipping dinner and eating unhealthy breakfast isn't the right way to go, but it's how it went....so...yeah....

any other small victories out there???

Re: Small Victories

  • As a small victory..I would say that I can now order a chic-fil-a sandwich or chicken biscuit and just eat the chicken and throw away the bread/biscuit

  • Congrats on your small victories!

Last night I went out to dinner... italian and I LOVE pasta.  I tried to look for a relatively healthy pasta dish on the menu but nothing appealed to me... but they did have a sausage and pasta dish that I was drooling over.  I was already drinking wine so I knew I had to go with something low calorie or I'd be in trouble.  Luckily the waiter came over and told us the specials--and there was a delicious sounding fish special!

So I convinced myself to get the fish which was delicious and very low calorie and just the right amount of food.  And I was so pleased with myself!  Small victories are the best.

Even though I'm a baker, I don't eat very many sweets. After being sick and having a migraine for the past 2 days, my wonderful FI made some walnut brownies last night to try to cheer me up a bit. Brownies are the only sweets that I will eat until they are gone. Anyways, I only had 3 bites out of the whole pan. :) Thank goodness we didn't have any vegan ice cream in the house, or those brownies would have been gone in 10 minutes, and I would have a belly ache today.
  • nicely done, klynette!

  • Congratulations on all of your small victories!

I feel like I have small victories every day. I have been able to say no to fast food (4 weeks strong now!), candy, and caffeine since I started my new lifestyle plan. It gets easier to say no to the "bad" and yes to the good as time goes on!

Today they were celebrating a 15 year anniversary for someone at the office and they brought cookie cake...I said no!
My next challenge is we are having a Work Thanksgiving in an hour, and I am hoping they have something healthy (read: not all casseroles!) that I can have with my turkey.
