Hamilton County Parks

Anyone ever used HCPD as their venue? I am particularly interested in one of the lodges - Fernbank Park Lodge on the river. The only thing included with the rental is the sweet river view, the building, and tables and chairs. No clean up, food, etc.

Any thoughts? Has anyone ever attended a reception in a venue like that?

We are not using Hamilton County Parks but are using the beautiful Pattison Lodge in Amelia. What I have learned is that it just takes a lot of planning and such on your part. So it depends on how much control you want to have? WIth this kind of venue you make all of your own decisions on everything. It can be as classy and formal or as laid back as you want it to be. It is all up to you!

I'm getting married and having a reception in one of the Butler County parks. It definitely takes more work since you have to find help with cleaning up, find your own food, etc. However, it has been worth it for me in the long run because i know exactly what will be happening, who will be where, and how it will be done. Good luck!

So - how are you handling the whole thing? Just curious. The set-up and tear-down would be entirely on me.

Are you going that morning to set-up the tables and such?

And that is a beautiful location! Wow. :) Love it.

<div>I have a few family and friends that are going to help out. But, yes we are doing it entirely that morning. You can't get into the place until I believe 10  that morning. So we plan on going in that morning doing the set up and everything. You can have the lodge until one in the morning. So we plan on having the reception end at 11 or 12 and then just doing a major tear down at the end. We are also having food catered in so all I have to worry about there is having the tables ready for them when they get there. </div><div>
</div><div>We are doing all of this on our own and on a pretty good budget I think. And we are very pleased so far! If you have any questions feel free to ask! I am not on here a lot since I work two jobs, go to school, and am wedding planning..Lol. But feel free to ask waway and I will check back when I can! </div>
