Your overuse of unnecesary punctuation is hurting my brain.

As pp said, some more details would help:
    How many people?
    In the city or suburbs?
    Budget?
    Atmosphere, ie. loft, garden, restaurant?
You want to use a specific outside caterer?

Offhand, some cool cocktail reception type spots:
    Loft on Lake
    Logan Square Kitchen
    Room 1520
    Mars Gallery

how many guests to you plan on having and what is your budget? If you are having a small wedding you can try looking up wedding shower locations because a lot of restaurants advertise it. If you are looking for wedding venues I am going to have to say the allerton hotel where we had our wedding was just amazing.

here is a list of what a lot of knotties used.

The South Shore Culteral center in Chicago. It is spectacular and reasonable!!  added bonus . The solarium is wonderful.
They provide chairs and have a reasonable list of caterers. the room needs no added decor.

Depending on size, the Redhead Piano Bar. We really wanted to do it there, but they really can't fit our size guest list and can't do a sit down dinner. We decided with 1/2 the guests from out of town, we really should be offering them dinner so picked something else.
