Hello ladies!! I am in Ohio trying to plan a 9/18/2010 wedding in St. Pete. I am looking for things to rent, buy cheap or borrow. We are having a small family wedding on the beach at Pass-A-Grille and need a cake, caterer or venue for reception, help with centerpieces, etc. My colors are red, orange and lilme green. We have linen napkins, chair sashes, runners. I am looking for mirrors for 8 tables, sandcastles for the centerpieces (large cylinders woth sand, shells and a sandcastle) rental place for chairs, arch for beach ceremony, etc. CAn you help??? Thanks ladies. Melissa melissastacy@wowway.com

HiWelcome to the board!!  The brides (and grooms) often post things they are looking to sell quite frequently I would keep your eye out for them on a weekly basis (you might want to look through some older posts as well).

As far as centerpieces you might want to try Michaels, they always have coupons in bridal magazines and in newspapers and they have all the items you are looking for in the centerpieces.  I know I am getting some hurrican vases for my aisle and I just save my coupons and buy them one at a time!

As far as the other items, I am not too sure.  I am a Naples, FL bride.  There are lots of other members on here who might be able to assist you though.

    Happy planning and congratulations!

I'd have your reception at The Hurricane Restaurant on Pass-a-Grille - it's really the only restaurant down there and it's got its own quirky atmosphere that is appealing.

Whatever venue you choose should already have those mirrors you want, because ALL the charity luncheons and weddings I go to have tose mirrors on the tables.

If the venue doesn't do cakes, I suggest Publix do your cake.  Our cake was from Publix and it was great.

    Hi and welcome!

I would suggest The Black Palm restuarant for your venue, it's on pass-a-grille and they do weddings there. Here is a link for more info:

Interestingly enough, I was looking at my photographers blog and she posted a recent wedding she did there, to give you more of idea of what weddings there look like. Here's the link (it's the first blog):

Also, you may want to check the trash to treasure board on the nest for items you are looking for.

    Congrats and GL!

    Welcome!

I agree with the pp's on checking the  older For Sale posts, Michaels or JoAnne's with coupons to help save $$ for the centerpiece items...

I am using Publix for a smaller cake (we are doing cupcakes) and the flowers.  They are cost effective and have some great designs to choose from.

    HTH!

Welcome! I also live in Columbus, OH and I'm planning my wedding in Tampa!

Check the older posts, I think someone posted a beach theme wedding sale. Also, be careful what you buy too early. Since you'll be traveling you don't want the extra hassle of trying to transport a lot of decor (especially if it's fragile).

Hi Melissa - Glad you made it over here!  I know the ladies here will be able to help more than over on WeddingBee just because you'll get more local advice.  A lot of the brides here are planning from afar like yourself.

Here's the link to the Trash to Treasure Board that has been suggested.

Between these 2 boards you should be able to get lots done!  Welcome and GL!
