I'm going to be sad the rest of the day
One of the giraffes at our zoo died. I was just there! I just saw him!
Apparently, he was eating leaves in a tree, his head got stuck and he had a heart attack. Then that snapped his neck.
My heart hurts 
The giraffes were my favorite part of the zoo.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. I feel ridiculous about how sad I am. I'm way too attached to animals, but nothing fanny. I don't have sex with dogs or anything.
Our zoo underwent a big renovation a few years ago (still not done actually) and they were sending the polar bears to a different zoo while their habitat was redone. They gave our beloved mama bear Trixie, too much of the sedative and she didn't make it. My mom and I went to seen her a week or two before, Very Very sad.

That's so sad. This is one of the reasons I don't like a lot of zoos. We shouldn't be messing with wild animals, sedating them etc. They aren't objects that we should be moving one place to another. ::sigh::
This news story always breaks my heart. I love penguins so much and I wish I would have been there to save them:

Aww :( They really are one of the cutest animals and they have great outfits ;)
They say she died from a genetic stomach issue, but I truly believe it was from the kids who threw plastic spoons at her and she ate the ends thinking they were food. It was really hard having to work the next day and deal with people asking where she was.
They just seem like such sweet animals. I think that's why I fell in love with the one at the zoo. He just came up as close as he could and we stared at each other...or I was baby talking to him, but that's because I'm a creep.
