Response Cards

Our reception needs to know the guests entree selection before the event. We are inviting children to the reception and the parents have the option to select a kids meal.  My venue will allow children 12 and under to have a kids meal.  Is it rude to include that on the response card? For example:  ___ Children's Meal (12 and under).  I don't want to be rude but, I want the parents who have younger children to  have the option to select a kids meal . We will have children that are under 12 and some will be over 12. Since there is an age limit I don't want any confusion.

Re: Response Cards

  • Is there actually a different menu for kids under 12?   Like chicken fingers or something?  Or is it just a reduced price on your regular meal?  If it's a different meal, then I think "Children's Meal (12 and under)" is just fine.    Remember that kids who are 10 or so and up might want the full adult meal.  It sounds like you're okay with this.

We're having a buffet that I think is pretty kid-friendly, but our caterer is only charging us half for kids under 12....so I didn't mention kids' meals on the response card, since I already know the ages of all the kids invited.

But yeah, I think "Children's Meal (12 and under)" as a selection is perfectly fine.

  • I think that would be fine -  although I might specify what the children's meal is, though (IE, write out "chicken tenders (Children's Meal, 12 & Under)" instead of just "chicken tenders")

  • Yes, it is a different menu.  It will be chicken fingers.  I will specify so they can decided if they want chicken fingers or something off the adult menu.
