Reception dinner

How long did you figure for dinner? We're having a plated dinner. There's a salad course then the main course.

How long after dinner are you doing cake? I want pictures of cake cutting more than I want pictures of the bouquet toss, but everything I've read says that cake should come last because people tend to leave after that. I doubt people will leave because most of them are out of townerswho are staying at the hotel, and my family is a bunch of party goers.

Dinner is being served at 5:30 and my photographer is there until 8 pm. I don't want the reception to be WHAM!BAM! Thank you ma'am, with all of the fun stuff in a row. We will be doing our first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances after dinner to start off the dancing. After that I haven't a clue.

    im having cake BEFORE dinner.. cuz i want ppl to TAKE the cake home.. just my opinion. 
    My dinner is buffet and I alloted 45 minutes for 180 ppl

    6:30-6:45 Open Buffets For Dinner

    7:30 Best Man Toast

            Cut Cake

            Father/Daughter Dance

            Mother/Son Dance

            Anniversary Dance

    okay i only have my photographer for 6 hrs and were doing first look photos and i really wanted photos of getting ready and fi wanted cake cutting photos and garter toss ect... so after our first dance (6:25) then mother son dance (635) tosses (645) we have cake cutting @ 7 and start of dinner @ 715 photographer willl leave around 7:45 

    but this is just how were doing it cause we have to go around her schedule and for the amount we paid her im glad we have her this long :)

    We're having plated dinner and we're allowing for about an hour.  We too are cutting our cake right after we do our grand entrance.

    It goes grand entrance, cake cutting, 1st dance, dinner.  The day after tomorrow, I am SO excited!!!!!
