  We had our reception at Mulhauser Barn. It's rustic but renovated and pretty resonable. You have to find your own caterere and do the set up and clean up yourself. There is no staff. I think you can seat up to 200(maybe).

  I third the Muhlhauser Barn. Our wedding and reception will be there June 12th. Everyone who has seen it loves it. I personally like that there is no staff and you bring in all your own vendors. It was a great blank slate for us.
  
  If you want more options, I believe there is another location in Hamilton, the Michael J. Colligan Lodge. It may not be as barn-like as you wanted

  I am looking for the same thing for my reception and just stumbled upon the Niederman Family Farm today.  I haven't contacted them yet so I don't have any info on price and capacity but some of the pictures I was able to find on other blogs were really neat.

  My friend got married at Neiderman Family Farm in Liberty Township and it was gorgeous! We(the bridal party) had to do all of the set up and take up ourselves and the food was catered, but the barn is lovely and the owner, Bob Neiderman, is an extremely nice gentleman. The price was very reasonable too, only a couple of hundred dollars for the whole day and the night before. I highly recommend this barn, especially if you want a nice but rustic feel!

  How many people can the niederman barn hold? We just booked it for our September 2012 wedding but I'm starting to fear it might not be big enough. Bob mentioned that it held 200 people and we are planning on only having 150-180 people but once we have the dj, dance floor and buffet set up im afraid it will be to small...

  I am looking into the Niederman Barn as well for my wedding next year. Have you been out to the location to look at it in person yet? I would imagine if it can hold 200 people then you should have room for 150, a dj, and dance floor. I've heard you need around 15 sq.ft per person, not sure if that's true or not. Maybe ask for the dimensions of the barn?

  We are renting the Niederman Family Farm barn for the wedding/ceremony. The price has evidently mushroomed since the previous person paid a couple hundred dollars..We're paying $950 and have it the whole day. We also have to set up and take down and self cater or have it catered.
  
  It is a pretty barn, but the huge drawback is that it has no kitchen--not even a sink. It does have a spigot outside the barn to get water. However, my daughter wants a barn wedding, and it's near enough to home to make it worthwhile to put up with this important drawback. The grounds are also nice with a pretty gazebo.and large deck outside the barn.
  
  She is correct, the gentleman handling the barn is a super nice person which also helps overcome some of the obstacles.  We're having problems having both wedding & reception there in arranging seating for everyone to be able to see the cermony without totally rearranging the tables and chairs.

  You're probably right about it being too small for a DJ, dancing area, and all the other things you plan on having. The owner said there is seating for 180.
