Parent Albums

Does anyone have any experiences, bad or good, with ordering leather bound wedding albums?
We are pretty sure we are going to use AdoramaPix, and we are pretty sure we want to do a 10x10 leather bound book. We have no idea how many pages to use, or even if 10x10 is a good size to use.

Any advice or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

  • I've also heard good things about mypublisher (as well as Adormapix). Personally I'm a fan of the regtangular shaped albums but I think it's a personal thing.

I don't have experience with that site, but I used Picboo to make our a guest book of our E-pics and it worked out well. Everyone loved it.

  • We did an 8x8, leatherbound, 80 page for our wedding album and it was adorably cute and not too small at all. (which was a worry)  Like Achi said, it's totally a personal preference thing.  I love the square books.
  • I have a 10x10 and I love it, but I'm a fanof the square albums. The 8x11 size remind me of my high school yearbook.

I didn't think about that... but you're totally right!!
  • My MIL wanted a little teeny one. Not my style, but ok. I got like a 6 x 9 for my parents. Not too small, not too large,. Big enough to see some details but not so big it overtakes the table.
  • These 2 blog posts have great comparisons of a bunch of photobook sites:

I've used blurb and shutterfly (not leather bound) and have been happy with both but will probably try something new for wedding books.

I like 10x10 or 8x8 books, larger ones take up too much space and I don't think smaller ones would be adequate for a wedding. Rectangular says yearbook/90s photography to me.

Number of pages is a personal preference, I make a list of all the photos I'd like to include, I tend to average around 3-4 photos per page to give a rough estimate.
