Haiku Mill

Anyone have any reviews on the Haiku Mill? Looks amazing but a little out in the middle of nowhere it seems.  Also have seen some reviews that it is a beautiful place but that the owners are not as professional and business minded. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

We looked into it but I was not sold with the reviews and the location.

A friend of mine is now planning her wedding there.  They require you to use their approved coordinator, and are very restrictive on vendors.  For example, there is only 1 DJ that is approved for use there.  It seems like they are trying to go more in the direction of White Orchid Wedding - exclusive location, one stop shop, restricted vendors.  So, a beautiful, unique location, but you may be limiting your choices.

That said, if you like how all of the weddings there look and the price works for your budget, lack of options isn't really such a bad thing.

    Hi all,
First post.  Just got engaged a month ago.  Trying to plan a Maui wedding as well.

hgundy, did you book Haiku Sugar Mill?  I actually just contacted a wedding planner, La Fleur, and she said they were one of the lead planners so her planning/design fee was included in the venue fee.

Overall, I'm confused with wedding planner cost, exclusive venues.  I'll have to do some more searching on the boards for info.  But if you did end up booking Haiku Mill please let me know your experience so far.

    Thanks!
