So my FI and I moved from Philly to Virginia at the end of October, I didn't start really looking for jobs until about December. I figured that I wouldn't hear back until sometime in January due to the holidays.
I am more than qualified for a lot of the positions as I used to manage a 5 star restaurant in center city Philadelphia. Any time I apply for a position somewhere they always ask on the application if I will be needing any time off within the next 6 months and if so how long.
My FI and I are going on a 2 week honeymoon and the wedding is OOT. Therefor I will need at least 3 weeks off in the month of June which starts to be their busy season at the hotels.
I feel so bumed out because these have all been online applications and anytime I go somewhere to apply they refer me to their website which I feel counts me out before someone even looks at my app!!
Luckily, my FI found something and so we still have money coming in. Also the wedding planning is not affected by our incomes because the FILs have been so generous and are paying for everything.
It just really bums me out some days because I know I would do an awesome job if they could just give me a chance. Also because I don't know anyone down here and going to work would be a great opportunity to meet people. I am starting to get really stir crazy here.
We are also living with their parents which isn't as bad as I thought they have been really good to me and us its just that we haven't been able to unpack anything or really get to start our lives. We are waiting for our apartment to be finished. Hoping to move in at the beginning of March.
Sorry for the rant and thanks for reading, I could use some advice/words of encourangement!!
