Definitely a privilege. It's a lot of responsibility and there is a lot of risk involved. If you don't act responsibly while operating a vehicle, that privilege should be taken away.
If/when I have kids, they will not automatically get their license as soon as they are eligible age-wise, they will have to earn it with good grades and showing responsibility and good judgement.
Definitely a priviledge. And, honestly, one that should be harder to obtain and just as hard to renew. There are way too many inadequate drivers out there, or drivers with conditions that are not disclosed and could be seriously dangerous on the road. Add into that all the distractions that modern technology brings into it, and driving is seriously compromised.
Privelege. As someone who doesn't drive and has no desire to, I know the pros and cons of not having a vehicle. Yet I survive, my days just take a bit more planning and organization to get around.

I'm going along with the crowd - priveledge. I have 3 grandparents (88-92 years old) and they all understand this too and have stopped driving because they understand that they are not as "sharp" as they used to be and the risk involved with them driving when they can't react/see as well as they used to.

Privelege. At 25 years old I just got my first drivers license and I don't have it because it's my "right" but because I worked hard to earn it and I could get it taken away easily if I didnt use it with caution. Also I have a young child so every time I get in the vehicle I take that into count, I just wish others would too.

privilege. but if I was a cop I would be stripping a lot of people of their licenses if I could! There are sooo many bad drivers out there who do not seem to be concerned for people or cars around them.
Definitely a privelege. I think you should be able to earn it and if you deserve to lose it, then you should have known better. My grandmother is over 85 and a few years ago decided she was unable to drive anymore. Well, not unable...but figured she should have someone shuttle her around. I think it was b/c she wanted to spend more time with me and her kids, but it was a good idea. LOL
Most definitely a privelege. Sometimes when i'm out on the road I wonder how some others obtained their license, my FI claims they got theirs out of a crackerjack box.
