Does anyone know (approximately) how much it costs to have make-up done at the counter in a department store like Macy's or Lord & Taylor?

    I thought it was free, but the intent is that you buy something from them.

    I've gotten my make up done at MAC in a Macys before and it cost me nothing but I was there to buy MU anyway

    all my bm's got their make up done at different counters inside of nordstrom at the westchester mall - it was free but they all bought whatever lipgloss the artist used on them so they could touch up throughout the day (approx $10 each)

    everyone is right...it is free but they expect you to buy something.

    My M/U artist was from MAC in Macy's (a friend recommended her) but she came to my house and did my makeup the day of and gave me her discount on the lipgloss and powder to use as touch up throughout the big day.  she did charge me but it was all worth it (and i did the trial at the counter)
