Say no to the J Crew wedding dress

I drove all the way from MN to Chicago with my friends to the N. Michigan Ave J. Crew, one of the two in the country that have the bridal collection to try on. They had no record of our appointment or the dresses we requested. They were rude and had no concept of what a bridal consultation should be like, or what customer service is. I would not recommend making a trip there to try on their dresses. The dresses aren't even that great, especially within the price range they offer.

    I'd post this on your local board, or maybe the board for the city the shop is in.

    I know lots of girls on the boards have had good luck and loved their jcrew dresses.  Maybe you just had a bad experience!  Sorry to hear that & I hope that you are able to find what you are looking for elsewhere!

    That's a crappy experience, sorry you went through that :( I went to a horrible local "bridal salon" who had no idea what they were doing either, and I know what you mean. 

    However, my friend just got married last weekend and wore a J. Crew dress, and she was so happy in it.  So, I guess it works for some people.  

    Better luck in your future searching!

    There are more than just 2 J Crews in the country that have the bridal collection. If you look online on the store locator, any store with a WC by it has the wedding collection. I have had pretty good experiences with J Crew myself. My bridesmaids are getting their dresses there, and once ordered, they come in within 4-7 days. You can order and be sized at any J Crew store, and if you have the dress shipped to a J Crew store, you do not have to pay for the shipping.

    If you love the Crew then good for you...but I get kinda irritated when all I hear is about J. Crew's bridal blah blah blah. Why would I want to buy my bridal gown from someone who makes tshirts?! 
    To OP I hope you find a dress you love and that you totally rock!
