Wedding Woes

WWWWD?

We aren't going back to see our families for Xmas, but we'll be mailing our gifts back to them.

We're on a limited budget this year, so we're getting small gifts for our parents, and younger siblings. However, I'm torn on whether or not to buy for our step-nephews. They're 8mos, almost 4, and 7. Each year, we get them something around $20.

H doesn't think we need to get them anything. I think we should get them something small, maybe something homemade (I'm thinking of making them mittens like these.)

WWWWD? Give, or not to give?

Re: WWWWD?

  • I should note these are sMIL's grandkids, and they get a TON of gifts from sMIL's kids (their aunts & uncles). It's ridiculous how much they spend on each other and what sort of gifts they give. Mittens might be tres lame.

  • Or, the  mittens could be the best thing ever. Those look like the kinds of things kids would love.

  • True. Do you think the 7yo would appreciate mittens? He's a cool dude.

  • Min, you just buy some mittens and then glue/sew the decorative pieces on.  It's simple.

  • I would do the mittens.  Could you do the same, but with slippers for the big kid?

  • It's really about the thought, and I'm sure they will not compare your gift to what their parents or grandparents give them.

Mittens or something else small will do fine. You could even go to the $ Tree and fill up a cute bag with little treats and toys. He's 7, so you can find something he would like to play with.

I buy incentive gifts for kids all of the time, and they love pens, journals, cards, candy, yo-yo's, that kind of stuff. Plus, I love the 99 Cent Store. Love It.
