Key Bridge Marriott

Hi girls, my brother is getting married next spring /summer and are looking at venues.  The Key Bridge is at the top of their list and I was helping them out by asking for any of your thoughts.  We'd love any thing you can give us.  TIA

It's a beautiful hotel, my company used to put up our board members there when we had conferences.  I can't speak for their ballrooms because I haven't seen them. That area of Rosslyn is definitely 'the city' but it's a nice area.

We checked out the Key Bridge Marriott.  The ballroom is beautiful and the views are amazing.  We ended up going with Top of the Town (also amazing views) for  our reception because we want to have the ceremony in the park out front.  HTH!

thanks! My brother and his Laura live in arlington so they are hoping to stay close.  She really wants somewhere that is easy for guests and has hotel options near by.  I don't know if they checked out the Top of the Town but I passed the name on.

i had my reception at the Key Bridge Marriott in February.  The food and drinks were amazing, the view is gorgeous, and everyone had a blast.  Less than 2 months before my wedding the coordinator I was working with left for a promotion at another hotel and the replacement person was less than adequate.  I got the impression they have remedied that situation since.  Overall I thought it was an outstanding venue.

DEETZEL, must be a common trend among the Marriott coordinators!  Ours is at the Crystal City Marriott, and I've gone through two in eight months!  They all seem very competent though, and I've been very pleased working with Marriott.

we actually stay at that marriott all the time when we're going into the city for various events where we know we're gonna get wasted :) it's beautiful, especially since they've renovated in the past year or so. it's a lot more modern and it's in a very convenient location, logistically to the city and georgetown anyway.

FI's company actually had their holiday party there this past year and they got a smaller ballroom all the way on the top floor. the view was gorgeous and they were probably able to fit about 100+ people and a dance floor comfortably.

I am getting married there April 2 2011. I fell in love with the view and what they had to offer right away!!! :o)

I also thought it would be great for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception to all be in the same building. No wait time between ceremony and reception. After reading a lot of budget blogs I have realized that I am spending way more than others on venue but I really think it will be worth it. We also got the Jr Suite that night for free and a GREAT rate for all of our guests.

If your brother or FSIL have any questions I love talking about weddings and what we are doing for ours. :o)

I am thinking abuot having my wedding reception at the Key Bridge Marriott next summer. I was there a few years ago for another reason and liked it, but when I went to look up pictures of their ballroom on the top floor...I saw the most heinously colored yellow/red/blue carpet.  That would completely clash with the colors that I was hoping to have for my wedding so I wanted to see if that bothered anyone else or if others have noticed this at all?

    Thanks in advance!

hahah  @ Lizzie.... I went to look at the Marriott a few weeks ago and I thought the same exact thing. The view was amazing but I could NOT get over that carpet. While I know most of my guests will be having a great time and not look at the carpet I couldn't see past it. Plus the guy that toured us was really rude and pushy so I was ready to leave as soon as the tour started. They also remodeled the lobby areas but not the hallways and room areas so some do appear a little old.
