Charles Grayson Spa & Salon in SouthPark...it's a little pricey but worth it!  I highly recommend the facial.  It will rock your world!

Depending if you want local food, I'd recommend checking out Dish (deviled egg with every entree) or Penguin (featured on Dives, Drives, and Diners on Food Network -- must eat the Fried Pickles) off of Thomas St. (near uptown).

well, as far as my recommendations:

    spa's
    - if you just a massage, you can't go wrong with Urbana!
    http://www.escape2urbana.com/

    - for a full service spa I would suggest Modern Salon and Spa (downtown)
    http://www.modernsalonandspa.com/

for food (my favorite) let me break this down into 2 categories

    fancy

    - sullivan's (yummy steak house)
    http://www.sullivansteakhouse.com/

    - lavecchia (seafood)
    http://www.lavecchias.com/

    - beef and bottle (looks like a dive, but the best steaks) http://www.beefandbottle.com/

    - Cajun Queen (my favorite, cajun food with a live Jazz band)
    http://www.cajunqueen.net/

    Cheap eats
    - fuel pizza (a Charlotte tradition)
    http://fuelpizza.com/

    - Merts heart and Soul (yum-yum southern food)
    http://mertscharlotte.com/

    - Prices Chicken (a must for fried chicken, take out only, cash only)http://www.priceschickencoop.com/

Dixie Tavern (fun bar and grill)
    http://dixiescharlotte.com/

    Things to do
    - Carowinds
    - Knight Baseball Game
    - Nascar Hall of Fame
    - White Water Rafting Center

I love Charlotte and I hope you do too, there is so much to do.  I hope this will give you a start.  If you have anymore questions let me know.

Crepe Cellar in NoDA is fantastic (pesto-brie-french-fries are a must get!) and I also love Boudreaux's for brunch (best Bloody Marys and shrimp and grits...)

I haven't been to many spas there, but I love the shopping, and if you're there on a Saturday the symphony plays in a local park and it's free. :) It's fun to picnic but you do have to go put your blanket down at like 9am to make sure you get a spot.

Oh, and food wise- one more- Cantina is amazing mexican. Tableside-made guac is awwwesome...

Just north of Charlotte is Mooresville and there is this awesome upscale Mexican resturant.  They took an old Church and turned it into this great place.
Prickly Pear.  They have a gormet chef on site too. Now its not cheap but worth every penny!

If you love sushi my favorite places are New Zealand Cafe in Charlotte and Eez Fusion in Huntersville.

Otherwise I would also recommend Canjun Queen and I love Tony Roma's!

Not much of a spa person; so can't help w/ any recommendations there. :)
