I usually visit this board to gather good advice on wedding planning but now I just have to vent.
Last night, Fiance and I were making our seating arrangements. Future Father In Law is the best man which means he and Future Mother in Law will sit at the head table. The Sister in Law got so upset that she couldn't sit with her parents that at 4am, we got a text that said she isn't coming to the wedding. She cancelled her hotel, flights and everything.
I just can't believe the table seating is the end all, be all. We didn't make her a bridesmaid and i think she is still sore, but her and my FI do not get along. The don't talk, hang out, nothing! When around each other, the tension in the air is so thick! We didn't want that kind of atmosphere with our wedding party. So we originally asked her to be a reader (a very important role in my eyes because of my faith) but she didn't like that. She then asked if her 1-year old son could be the ring bearer and she would walk him down the aisle. We hadn't even planned on having flower girls or ring bearers in our ceremony but we agreed to this to appease her. Then she asked us to make sure there were chicken fingers at our adult only wedding. Then she dictated how our programs should read.
And now she drops out of the wedding after programs have been printed, dresses purchased, flowers purchased, and putting people thru all kinds of frsutration. I'd like to send her a bill in the mail...
I don't know about this wedding stuff. I feel like it brings the worst out in people. She has really been our only thorn in the side but her behavior just amazes me. When was the wedding ever about her?
FI and I agreed that it's probably for the best and we can actually enjoy our day without the drama his sister ensues. I don't know if she wants us to now beg for her to be there but we've decided we'll just reprint the programs, give the flowers to someone else, and sale the damn flower girl dress.
