OK so last summer my mom insisted I invite her cousins who live in oregon. Like way south near the cali border oregon. I told her no because I didn't really know them( I have maybe met them 3 times) but I gave in and invited them anyway. Fast forward to yesterday. I have not heard from them at all. No RSVP no phone call no nothing and all of a sudden they e-mail and say their comming!!!!!!!!!!!! 9 days away and I already gave my final head count and paid the balance on the site and food. So now what do I do????? Say sorry no dice you can;t come? or do I try and get the site to make an exception?

I would tell your mom "sorry, Mom, but we arleady gave the head count to the caterer XX days ago. They were supposed to RSVP by XX date and they just now emailed them. You need to contact them and let them know we do not have the room." Put it back on her. She wanted them, so she can deal with them.

Yeah I did. and Yesterday she was all :oh don't worry I'l tell them they can't come" but now a couple more want to come so now she wants me to add a table and food. I told her she would have to pay for them and she agreed but I am not sure if the site will let us add now. ugh

See if you can add them today, and if you can't, tell them (or have your Mom tell them, but I think it's better if you do it since it's your wedding) that unfortunately their response was so delayed that you're not able to accommodate them now since you already submitted your final numbers, and there's just no flexibility.

If you can't make adding them work, I would try to get back to them by tonight, though, so they can change any plans they need to.

Hmm, well then I agree with Carrie's suggestion. Call the venue and ask. If they can't they can't and you can at least say you tried and they're just SOL because they waited too freaking long! Their own fault if it doesn't work out. And definitely tell them tonight after you find out from the venue.

I called the venue and they are going ot add everything no problem. I called mymom and they are paying for any overage so I am now at peace. oooouuussaaaaa

I'm glad this worked out for you in the end!

I find that the closer to the wedding I get, the less I care about the stuff that used to bother me (like this). Most of it is just not worth getting upset about anymore.

I emailed and phone stalked the crap out of my late RSVPer's. No way was I leaving anything to chance!! And I'm glad I did cause a few of them were coming, and they had thought they'd RSVP'd. Hmmm. Weirdness!

I did too! My mom was in constant comunication with these people and they never said a word. Then all of a sudden their coming! All 6 of them. I have released it now though. I was more worried about money thatn anything
