Wedding Woes

Has anyone here been to Sesame Street Live?

Thoughts? Is it too young for a 2 yo? Groupon has a deal on tickets and I'm thinking of getting them and taking DS. I'm wondering if he'd be bored or would want to go like 30 mins in.

  • You are a brave woman.  I've been to a live kids show and it is rough.
  • I think he'd like it. My friend took her son who was 2 at the end of June and he loved it.

We've taken A to Disney on Ice twice. The first when he was a year and 5 months which was too young, and just recently we went again and he LOVED it. He was fixated the whole time.

  • i had to go to one of these for work once.  (long story)

most kids were 3+, but i think it depends on the kid. if he will sit through a 1/2 hour show, i think he will be good to go. the energy of the crowd will help keep him from being bored because there's a lot of yelling in to the audience.

for you -- does the venue sell booze? serious question. the line for the bar at the one that i went to was crazy long. they must have made $3249823984732 from drink sales.

p.s.  i also sprung for the special package, with the gift bag and the hat and the special signs to wave at specific times during the show. i was the envy of many a 4yo that day, let me tell you.

  • I bought the tickets. It's a 90 min show and I figure there will be plenty of kids so if he decides to play with a toy or something that's okay. Plus it says that the characters walk through the theatre during the show so he'll enjoy that.
  • I haven't been to Sesame Street, but we've taken the girls to Disney on Ice since DD1 was 1 and they've always loved it.  I actually just bought our tickets for the Dec show here in my city last night.
  • Also, there's usually an intermission so he can take a break, run around, etc.

  • We took the kids last year.  Mind you at the time they'd never seen Sesame Street, didn't know what Elmo's World was, and M2 was just about 1.  They had a BLAST.  Both of them were wide eyed and bopping along in their seats.  Since it is a kid show you don't have to worry if they are loud and they can be out of their seats and what not.  It was also the first time 6let had cotton candy so he was STOKED.

We'ver already said we want to go again this year.  Lord help me.

i would go. if he is anything like my toddler, then he'd probably have a great time. and if he gets tired enough to sleep 13 hours that night, even better. (i say this as someone who gets the privilege of a 13 hour night every once in a while, usually after an event)
  • I took my granddaughters (ages 16mths, 3 and 6) to Disney Princess' live and they all loved it.  It is so nosy and so much going on they were never bored.
