Out of State Marriage License?

I live out of state and my fiance lives in Dallas.  Do yall know if he can go get the marriage license without me?  I won't be home within that 30 day 72 hour window.  The lady told me we can go to the judge Friday before the wedding to get the 72 hour waiting period waved. 

I thought I found somewhere online where I can sign a form saying I can't be there to get the license, but now I can't find it.

Also, can I get a new Texas license with my new name online or by mail or do I have to go there in person?

    I can't help you with your first 2 questions, but I do know that you cannot get your new DL online. I went to the DMV off Northwest Highway and Jupiter and was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

    You have to both be there. I asked that question of my officiant, because there's a good chance we may both be living out of state by then. I do know, though, that if you take the state pre-marriage class (the one that give you the $60 discount), it also waives the 72-hour waiting period.

    Ya I live in Kansas City and I'm in medical school, so I won't be home until the day before the wedding.  I guess we'll just have to go to the court house Friday.  I was just trying to find a way to get around this, so we're not having to do this last minute.

    There is a way to get your marriage license without you being there (at least in Denton county).  Here is the link to their information:

    They require proof of your identification, such as your driver's license or your birth certificate (originals, no copies).  I'm not sure why they say driver's license since obviously you will need that when you are in another state, but if your birth certificate is in DFW, then you will be fine.

    Awesome thanks!  I found the document for Collin County.  WOOHOO!  That is one less thing we have to worry about last minute. :)
