Ceremony Programs??

has anybody started working on them yet? If so, are you printing yourself or having it done commercially. I am trying to decide what to do.

Also, if anyone out there is Epsicopalian or Catholic ( because it is similar), can you let me know what aspects of the ceremony are you doing?? For example, are you and FI just taking communion, or are you opening it up to the whole congregation?

Re: Ceremony Programs??

  • Our program is almost finished (after we confirm ceremony with pastor)! YAY! we just made it (a trifold) on word and are printing it on cardstock...easy and cheap.

  • My MOH is doing our programs and she has been working on them. She is almost done and we will more than likely be getting them printed through Vistaprint.

FI's family is catholic and we aren't getting married in a catholic church or anything. So we are not doing any of the normal things.
  • I have mine designed, I'm just waiting for a while before I print in case anything changes. Oh and we have to, you know, finish writing the ceremony, heh.

This is the mock up of the pages without the printing. I'll be printing on the purple pages and adding silver embossing powder, and then just printing navy blue on the silver pages. The purple is left over from my invites so all I had to buy was the silver paper which wasn't too bad.

We're doing our own, to match the rest of the stationary...
    Here's what we're including:

booklet front page (matches invitations), wedding party page, ceremony order (ie. rings, vows, etc.)page, a thank you to guest & directions to the reception location page.

as for the Communion...I wouldn't open it up to everyone. That could take a very long time if you have a sizable guest list...

  • I designed a tri-fold program on MS Word.  I think I'm just going to have it printed & folded at catprint.com, mainly because I am too lazy/busy to print and fold all of them myself.

Vistaprint! I rave about them a lot on here haha they are awesome and very affordable and run specials/deals ALL the time.
I feel like printing myself is just a hassle and after reading horror stories about ink bleeding and this that and the other, I feel like it's safer to use a professional.

I'm not Catholic so I can't help you with specifics there, but like PP said if you open up communion to the whole congregation it may extend the ceremony time quite a bit.

  • We are getting programs which are also paddle fans (ceremony will be outside). We only have our names and the date on one side and then the wedding party on the other. We didn't list the order of service. I assume we will have some late changes anyway, so I wanted to be on the safe side. I ordered them from etsy.

    :)
  • I am designing them myself in Word and will get them printed on cardstock I ordered from paperandmore at Kinko's.  I am Episcopalian, and as a requirement to be married in my church we will be doing full communion (opening it up to everyone).  I have been promised that she will get people in and out quickly, but we definitely weren't thrilled to have to include this into our ceremony.  If you have other questions, you can PM me :)

  • I'm printing the programs myself using a cardstock cover that's pre-"scored" for folding and then regular paper for the insides.

FI and I are Catholic and we are having a full Catholic Mass for our wedding.  We are opening up communion for everyone.  I am including the standard statement by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops that is a Guideline for the Reception of Communion this way I can help those guests who are not Catholic understand what is happening.  Altogether my program will be four sheets of paper (so 8 pages of info) because I am including all of the info for the different rituals and songs, etc.

If you are having a Catholic Mass PM me and I can send you my program that you can use as a template if you want :)

We're definitely going with the assumption that our wedding is going to be a full hour.  We're not worried about it because it's what we have every Sunday at church.  Luckily, it's our wedding so we get to decide how long it's going to be.  Not really concerned with guest preference on this one.
