Need Venue Help!!

Hi All,

My fiancee and I are recently engaged and hoping to get some venue ideas.  We are looking for more of a non traditional place, ideally on a lake or in the hills of NJ.  We would only like 1 wedding at a time, ceremony outside, reception inside but with windows overlooking a great view.  We are planning on providing transportation for guests but don't want to be more then 20 mins from a hotel.  Budget is $$-$$$.  Any ideas?

So far we are looking at The Mill at Spring Lake Heights and Brooklake Country Club, to give you a flare of what we are looking at.  Also Laurita Winery but the hotels are far.

Thanks for the help!

I was also looking at The Mill and Brooklake Country Club -  I loved them both, but ended up going with the Brooklake.  My wedding was in May, and I can't say enough good things about the Brooklake.  The setting was beautiful, and they were soooo helpful.  The food was delicious also.  If you have any questions about the venue, feel free to message me!

A friend of mine had her wedding at The Skylands Manor.  The ceremony was outside and the reception inside.  Its like a huge castle with beautiful grounds.  She got an awesome deal too, and said that they were really willing to negotiate.   The hotel we stayed at was the Sheraton in Mahwah, and they had a shuttle to/from the wedding (I think she might of had to pay for that though?).

Our venue, Ramsey County Club is one wedding at a time, outside pavillions for ceremonies, and overlooks the golf course and lake.  They did an amazing job on our wedding in May!  We used the WoodCliff Lake Hilton and it's 20 mins. away and provides shuttles.  There is also the DoubleTree in Mahwah on 17 which is closer but doesn't have multiple shuttles.

While we were looking at venues earlier this summer, we liked Neshanic Valley Country Club (my mom visited without me, but I saw the pics and it was an amazing view), and Twin Brooks Country Club in Warren (got to see in person, also a beautiful view).  Both do outdoor ceremonies, with beautiful surrounding areas.  Lots of windows, 1 wedding at a time, and hotels within 20 minutes.  I don't know about weddings at either location, but we had positive experiences visiting both.

I would recommend looking at the Crystal Springs properties- not sure of your budget/time of year, Grand Cascades is very pricey, but Ballyoween is beautiful and more affordable and over looks a golf course and the hills/scenery- very pretty!

Im a fan of RG&CC... Thumbs up.  What about the Indian Trail Club?  I don't know too much about it but it has what you're describing w/ beautiful scenery.

You should also check out Lake Valhalla Club in Montvlle. I was lookig for EXACTLY what you are looking for but with a rustic feel and the Lake Club was perfect.
I should note that it is a bit small inside, so if you are going to have a bigger wedding, 150+, it wont work for you. Honestly, 130 looked tight... thank goodness my GL is 120...

Boutie or any other Brooklake girls- in case you want to get an idea of what the room, ceremony space & picture area look like:
