venue for 300+?!?!

My fiance and I are having trouble finding a venue in Connecticut which meets our needs. We were hoping to get married somewhere along the Connecticut shore, but we have a guest list which includes 300+ people. Does anyone have any recommendations or know of any places along the CT shore that can accommodate this many? Any you would recommend?
We are also trying to explore other options like local vineyards and other reception venues on lakes or rivers. I guess we are just hoping for something a little different. We would love to hear any suggestions!! Thanks for your help!

It would be helpful if you let us know where along the CT shore you are looking at since there are plenty of places we can recommend from Mystic down to Greenwich.

Thanks Christy. Anywhere in CT is really fine. We live just outside of Hartford, but do not mind a venue an hour or so away! We feel like we are limited because of the number of guests. A lot of venues we have found only accommodate up to 250 if that!

The Waterview, Anthony's Oceanview, Cascades...we ran into the same problem. We needed something 300+...I am sure that I am missing some!

Did you check Watersedge in Westbrook. I would think they have a large capacity but not sure.

The Water's Edge in Darien is also pretty big. I friend up mine had a big 300+ wedding at Villa Rosa in Waterbury. I think venues like Branford House in Groton can do that many if you use a tent also.

Check out the RIverview in Simsbury.  The whole facility holds up to 1000 total.  We are getting married there in September.  I know its not on the shoreline but it is on the Connecticut RIver! It is brand new and absoutely gorgeous!

I second the riverview in Simsbury. We are getting married there in October and it is gorgeous.

    Crowne Plaza in Cromwell CT

I had my Indian wedding there with 400+ guests, and it was still spacious :)

We had lighting and it totally transformed the venue...

    Good luck!
