Paper Lantern Ideas

I'm really set on using paper lanterns as a way to decorate my reception site, but our venue won't let us hang them from the ceiling, does any one have any other ideas, maybe involving centerpieces? (We don't have ideas for those yet...) Also our colors are orange and colblt blue! Thanks!

My colors are orange and navy. I'm not using lanterns, but check out my bio for inspiration. I would try googling paper lantern centerpieces and see what you find. Good luck!

These are paper lantern vases - I actually like this idea, but it may not be the look you're going for, that's why I suggest google as a starting point.

can you anchor a wire to walls and string them just under the ceiling?

We did some DIY paper lanterns that we used as menus and reserved signs, but you could do something similar with pictures of the two of you, table numbers, or whatever. Here is one of ours:

I bought my lanterns from Hobby Lobby (they have blue and orange too), and, since I can't hang from the ceiling at my reception hall either, I'm hooking fishing line on wall and hanging the lanterns off of the fishing line at differing heights.

i once saw a centerpiece pic where the bride used 3 shepard hook like stands and cemented them into a base she hung bunches of paper lanturns from the hooks. You could consider branches with the same idea
