No more SYTTD for FI!

So, I never watch Say Yes to the Dress with FI. I'll watch it from time to time when he's not around, but we put it on on Friday night! He made me so nervous based on the comments that we was making about other girls!

#1 - they put a longer veil on one of the girls, prob like chapel length. And FI was like "Why does that veil go all the way to the floor. That looks stupid. My veil is cathedral length!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#2 - there was a dress that was SOMEWHAT similar to mine that he decided he hated.

I'm never watching it with him again! He got me all nervous that he's gonna hate how I look! I even had a nightmare about it last night!!!

LOL I totally know what you mean!! Fi made a comment one time about how silly birdcage veils look and how he doesn't like ruffles... shiet :P
I'm not too worried because those things can look silly if they aren't on the right person or if there is "too much" of it. I think my dress will wow him even if he doesn't like ruffles lol

FI did watch a bit of SYTTD with me on Friday night; the one that was repeat from last week with the bride whose FI was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. We both needed kleenex!!

Yeah I hear ya. FI has made some comments about things and I can't help thinking to myself "well wont he be surprised!" In all reality, you will look gorgeous on your wedding day and I'm convinced all of our FIs will love what we wear. It's probably hard for them to tell when it's on someone else vs when it's on us.

FI and I watch that show occasionally and he will point out the dresses he thinks are similar to mine. He gets strapless and sweetheart neckline right, but that's where it stops. He thinks I've picked some sort of A-Line/mermaid hybrid, when in actuality, I have a full ballgown. I guess he will just be surprised. I've already told me he better say I'm lovely that day, haha!

</div><div>OP, my advice? Stop. lol! I was having FI looks at dress pictures and tell me what he thinks and when I realized I was having anxiety that he might hate a dress like mine (or worse, my exact dress!) then I stopped. Everyone says that he'll love whatever you're in no matter what so I have to just let it go.</div>

My FI is totally opposite. I watch that show allll the time and I always asks what he thinks of this dress or that dress and he never says a word! haha. He's worried he's going to say something he doesn't like and make me upset if it's what my dress is. I know what doesn't like (pick ups, birdcage veil) so I stayed away from those things. He does want a blusher bc it's traditional but I don't want to wear one so I vetoed that request but didn't tell him. I'm sure he won't even notice on the wedding day.

It's a veil that goes over your face. Kate wore one when she married Prince William. The PP is a birdcage one.

Yup! I'm actually wearing one as well. I wasn't sure if I was going to, but as soon as it was on, I just FINALLY felt like a bride! You can only kinda tell in this photo..

Haha FI always has opinions on that show too! He does know that my dress is form fitting around my bottom (it's his fav body part of mine and one I take pride in haha) but other than that is clueless. I am fairly simple so he's going to be totally shocked when my dress has elaborate beading, cinching, and pickups. He's the fashionably flashy one of the two of us so on a hanger he probably would have picked it out thinking I'd hate it. It's different from what I expected and I totally love it!

He'll think you are beautiful. Girls on that show often try on dresses that are all wrong for them. Plus, I know my FI is way more critical of other women because they aren't me and he loves me as is. Don't stress!

My fiance has seen my dress and SYTTD and didn't know it! Usually I am the worst liar in the entire world... you can see it alllll over my face. Somehow I was able to pull it together! He even asked me "is this your dress?" because he knows it's a mermaid with some beading. Close call :P

Aww, I wouldn't worry about it! As PP said, nothing can change the fact that it will be YOU, the woman he loves, on your wedding dayl. I can imagine that you'll look so stunning he won't even realize you're wearing something that he supposedly "didn't like." I'm sure you'll change his mind!
