Wedding Woes

Varuna

did you watch or were you too busy squeeling in excitement to sit still for an hour?

Re: Varuna

  • Oh, I forgot!

    Yes, i did watch.

First off, the actress playing Anne Frank?  I love her.  However, she will always be Lola from "Run Lola Run" to me. OMG @ Monsignor being in on Arden.  And that MFer is a Nazi, I believe Anne is Anne and he is Cooper and he's going to kill her.  And OMG @ Shelly, that almost made me throw up.  I realize they can't kill him off, but I really want Arden DEAD.

I am HIGHLY suspicious of Dr. Thredson now.  So, so, so suspicious.  Also, that was one of the hardest scenes I've ever watched in my life, I can't imagine trying to act through it.

I don't know if I believe Kit is Bloody Face yet.  How did Lana's partner get killed if Kit is Bloody Face?  I wonder if Dr. Thredson is Bloody Face and the theory he floated to Kit, is really HIS personal diagnosis for himself and he doesn't know it.

I think the scene between Sister Jude and the Reverend Mother is my 2nd favorite Jude scene so far (I can't imagine the drunken Carousel scene being beat, hello Emmy #2).

I also loved Kit's talk with Sister Jude. She actually was compassionate towards him and made her less vile.

How awesome is it that young Arden was played by James Cromwell's son?

I really like the Anne Frank story line. I think Ryan Murphy was very smart in going that route as there were several women committed after claiming to be Anne Frank in the years after the diary was published.

Thredson and the Aversion/Conversion therapy. Wow. Apparently it was a closed and quiet set. Sarah Paulson just dove right in on it. It was so hard to watch and the fact that it was a very real therapy horrifies me. Actually, all of the methods used for mental illness horrify me. Even ones used now.

I'm up in the air about him. and I, too, have the thought of him being Bloody Face. Or the Monsignor and Arden in on it together. The detectives did mention surgical know-how in the removal of the heads and skin.

Grace's revelation was a good one too. Though she is still a sympathetic character due to the nature of WHY she committed her crime.
  • I didn't know that was his son!  DH and I both commented that it must be digital enhancement, b/c it looks exactly like Cromwell.  I'll have to let DH know that too.  I didn't know the fact about Anne Frank either.  That does put a really interesting spin on it.  And if she's not Anne, why is Arden/Monsignor so freaked about this revelation?

I noticed the thing about the skin too.  I don't think Arden is Bloody Face b/c he gets his kicks with living patients to torture medically.  I think that's what all the creatures in the woods are.

I wonder if Jude (after she hit the girl) kept drinking and started hallucinating?  That's why she saw the aliens?  B/c if Kit IS Bloody Face and aliens are a lie, WTF did she see?

So the reason I'm so suspicious of Thredson is that I think he didn't like watching her touch another man, more than anything else. I mean, while I didn't think the therapy was working, he's so gungho about all of his new fangled psychology, I can't imagine him stopping it.  Plus, he's so vehement about taking her with him...why?  He still thinks she's "sick", but doesn't seem to want to treat her really.

I will say I think the acting this season is incredible.
  • with Thredson I fully expected HIM to be the conversion part of the therapy. He does have the creeper aspect, but I don't know. I think he's either going to die or Arden/Jude will get their hands on him before they can escape.

Did Jude see the alien after hitting the girl? I thought it was during her binge while the storm was going on last week.
  • I agree with V that the creatures in the woods are all of Arden's experiments.  He sort of let on about it when he told Shelly she would probably live forever.

I also didn't know that was Cromwell's son.  That's great!  And it did look just like him.

I want to know what happened to Arden's junk.  I didn't miss that, did I?
  • Oh, I didn't make thought clear.

I wonder if Jude (after she hit the girl) kept drinking, got worse and started having hallucinations?  So, maybe since she hit up the bottle again, hallucinations came back?  And that's why she saw aliens?

No word yet on Arden's junk, Taw.  :D
  • Oh and I totally thought Thredsen was going to try and sleep with her too.  I was all sorts of skeeved during that whole process.  And how did he get that pictures, he was REALLY up in their house if he found that, y'know?
  • I'm so in love with ZQ that I'm having a hard time seeing him as a baddy. I hated him being nasty last season.

    Gotcha re: the hallucinations.

I agree that the things in the woods are the missing patients (except for the Mexican who we all saw Mary Eunice kill and feed to them). It's very Infantata from last season though.

Part 2 is supposed to answer even more questions and episode 6 is supposed to get REALLY into the darkness.

What I love about this is that it's less supernatural and more the horror of humanity and what evil people are capable of. Sure there are supernatual aspects, but for the most part it's all about the inhumanity of humanity and the horror of asylum life in a time when nothing was known about mental illness.
  • Oh see, ZQ to me is Sylar, so super bad!
  • He's Spock to me. That was my first exposure to him
