Non religious wedding Location

Hello Ladies,
My fiance and I would like to find a spot to have our ceremony in or close to Poughkeepsie.  We do not want to have a religious ceremony.  We're planning on having our reception at the Grand, but I would prefer not to have the ceremony there.  I'm at a loss, does anyone have any ideas?  TIA

Maybe the GrandView doesn't have a wedding that day and you could use their outside area?
What type of area are you looking for? Maybe Bowdoin Park would work for you?
I'm thinking that you'd want something outside, but then there has to be a Plan B for rain. Maybe a local social hall? Like the Italian Society, or even, and here's a thought. Cunneen-Hackett on Vassar St. It's an old theater and they still do plays there. Perhaps that would be available. It's got the stage and seating all set up and the vintage feel in really nice(I've been to plays there). And it's super close tot he Grand.
    HTH.

There are lots of parks near the area that would be beautiful. Especially those that are along the river. I also heard about a couple that got married on the walkway!

Waryas park is I think the one closest to the Grand. (and it's along the river) If you are ok with having your guests travel a little bit, Meisier park in Wappingers is beautiful!

Also, not sure when your wedding is, but the Grand does not allow on-site wedding ceremonies for Saturday night receptions. So, it may or may not have even been an option for you. (Even though you didn't want it, I wanted to post that fro other girls. So they could be aware of it)

Wow, thanks for the great ideas.
Woodfrogs - I love the Cuneen Hacket idea, I've just sent through a request for info, we'll see what happens!
Terri - Thanks for the idea about the parks.  I'll look into those too!
    Thanks again....

I'm getting married at Cunneen on 4/28/12 & will have been performing on that stage for 30 years that same year....yes I started that young & no I am not that old...lol.  Jackie & JoAnn are wonderful!  If I heard correctly you can then get the Grand's trolley to pick you up & bring you there.  Best of luck on an amazing location!!!!!!
