How many hotel rooms to reserve??

I am hopelessly clueless when it comes to this...

I am having about 75 people at my wedding.  The hotel I reserved rooms through is holding 15 rooms.  Should I reserve rooms at another hotel or should 15 be sufficient?

Please help!!

How many people from out of town? And where is reception? Is it too far for your guests to drive home after if there is alcohol?

Lindsay has some great suggestions. Our wedding is mostly OOT, so we reserved 30 rooms at the Wyndham and 20 at the Holiday Inn. This is one of the first things we did, b/c the blocks fill up fast!

Not a lot of out of town people, but many live far enough that they may want to stay because there will liquor involved.  (Honestly I'd be more comfortable knowing everyone is safe than trying to drive home!)

Maybe I'll add some at another hotel.

    Thanks!!

Hey JBaxter- how far in advance did you book rooms? Mine is next March... Should I go ahead and start to book now?

Sari, I did my block last month. However, we need close to 35 rooms.

I think we need to get on the ball then.... We will need about 35 to 40 minimum. About 90% of our guests are out of town. We will be picking at least 2 hotels though at 2 different price ranges (the one close to the venue will be more expensive so will chose a cheaper one farther out). I just don't know how many rooms to book at each since we are doing two.... However, it is a March wedding, and not around any time that people will be coming to visit Pittsburgh normally (for games, weather, holidays, etc). I prob do need to try and get rooms in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry, i forgot to check back!

We booked our rooms last March, so a year and 2 months. When I called, they said they already had a gymnastic competition and a bar mitsvah, so the rooms were limited. (random.)

Thank you for the compliments on my STD. We LOVE it!

How do you block out hotel rooms? Just call the hotel and ask? Are there any stipulations if you don't fill all of the rooms?
