Registry results?

We have sent out our invites and did not include any registry info in the invites (as brought up countless times in this forum).  We have our bridesmaids and groomsmen doing the work and getting the word out that we would prefer monetary gifts because we pretty much have everything we need as far as our home.

So I ask the following:

were your guests accommodating with your requests for a monetary gift?  For those of you that had out of town guests, did you receive a lot of gifts that you had to pack up and find a way to take home?

I didn't ask for monetary gifts so I can't help you there.  None of our guests brought a boxed gift to Vegas.  We did get a handful of cards with cash/checks/gift cards there but most people shipped to our home.

Also, FWIW, I am pushing 40 and have been living with my DH for 6 years now but I still found some stuff to register for.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

We created a small gift registry, and a honeymoon registry through honeyfund.com . So far, the response has been positive. Almost all of our gifts have been contributions toward the honeymoon. I know there are other cash registries like this where you can basically register for anything (i.e., home improvements, down-payment, etc.).

We didn't ask for monetary gifts.

The big gift for us was them coming to the wedding, anything on top of that is a bonus in my eyes.

Many of our guests that came to the wedding gave us gift cards to the places we registered at in the cardbox or sent the gift either before the wedding or when they came back.

We lived together for a 1.5 years and had a lot of stuff already but I did manage to find things to register for.

We didn't request monetary gifts either. Most of the gifts purchased from our registry were shipped to our house. We had a couple of boxed gifts that were brought to Vegas and a lot of people also gave a card with money at the wedding.
