So I just want to write about my experience with the florists I visited. It might help someone.
The places I visited were all mentioned by brides here in the NJ board before. I made appointments with 4 different places.
I went to the appointments prepared. FI and I decided before the color of the wedding and looked online what kind of flower arrangement we wanted. I took my lap top with pictures of flower arrangements we liked and a picture of the bridesmaid dress which was the inspiration for the wedding colors.
The first one was with AW Flowers in Kearny.
It was such a good experience. I was ready and Adam was super professional. I think we spent 30 or 45 minutes talking. He understood what I wanted and complemented my ideas. The price he gave me was the lowest from the florists I went. Even lower than preparing the arrangements at home ( I had done some research before about DIY flowers before). At the end of the appointment I knew it was going to be the place. Even not knowing yet how much other places would charge me.
The second place I went was Santos Florist in Newark. I was treated really well. They asked for an extra 600 dollars compared to the quote I received in the first place. I would have no problem paying for it, but I still liked better the first florist.
The third place was Avenue Flowers and Gifts in Elisabeth. I read good things about them in here. But maybe I just got unlucky when I went there. The person who help me should be new there and he didn't even know the name of some flowers. He had to leave his table to ask name of flowers, he wasn't the one who gave prices of flowers so any changes I had to talk to someone else.... I didn't think he knew enough to be responsable for the flowers of my wedding.
The fourth place I simply cancelled the appointment because I had done my decision about the florist.
Today I went to AW Flowers with my FI and we gave them the deposit money.
I am really happy. I can't believe I will get the arrangements we want for the price he gave!
And the thing I think I am most happy about is that Adam is going to make my bouquet like this one that I use as my signature here!!!!!!
