Band Suggestions

Hi ladies!  I am planning on getting married in May 2011 and am looking for a great band.  Ideally, I'd love a soul/funk band that plays fun music from the 70's, 80's and today.  Also, it would be great if they played DJ music when they took breaks.

I looked at a band called Doppleganger, who is great, but they're $6,000 for a friday night (my wedding will be on a Saturday) so they're definitely out of my price range.  I was hoping to spend maybe $3,000-4,500. 

Any suggestions?!  Thanks for all of your help!

    I am using a band called Route 66 Band.  We went and saw them perform on the Kemah boardwalk to be sure they were ok.  The lead singer is a DJ part time, so they play good music during the breaks.  My wedding is in August, so we haven't had them perform yet, but we were VERY impressed in Kemah!!  They play the typical blend...  I also added the saxaphone because once I heard it, I knew it was a must!

    I highly recommend Gumbo Band (Fred Dorin).  We had them for our wedding this weekend, and they were amazing!!! We got great reviews from our guests and they are very affordable.
