Costs of Hair & Makeup!

Hello Brides to be and now Mrs.s - I have been getting estimates for hair & makeup in the South Bay/Los Angeles, and cannot believe how expensive it is.  For a trial Hair/Makeup, day of Hair/makeup on location and then 3 bridal party for light makeup, the average has been around $500! 

Is this what others have found ? 

I do not need the top of the line makeup artists, so do you have any less expensive hair & makeup people ?

    The person who always does my hair did mine. He doesn't do up-dos, so if that's what you want, maybe he can recommend someone. Try Tomi - http://www.hairreligiononline.com/

    I don't know how much she charges for bm's, but for bridal makeup it's $150 which includes a trial. She also gives you the lipstick/gloss so you'll have it for touch ups.
    DH who isn't a fan of lots of makeup was really happy with my wedding day makeup (even though it was definitely heavier than what I usually wear).

    Thanks for your response.  My regular hairdresser, who does hair & makeup, cannot do it.  :(  So I am searching around now, but shocked at the cost.

    I would contact Moira Taylor. She did my makeup for my engagement pics and everyone at the wedding. She was very reasonable and she is so nice.

    Try asking your regular hairdresser if she has any recommendations.

    Hi~not sure if you're interested but I'll do it for half that ($250) if you're interested. I have done weddings/events for years, but I don't do it as a day job (I actually teach). I've been asked to do runway before, and I would have gone more into this but I decided to go the education route. However, I'm engaged and I am trying to make as much money as I can for my own wedding so I'd be willing to do it for really cheap if you are interested. The $250 would be for the trial run as well.
